WHO ARE THE ONLINE LESSONS INTENDED FOR?

Anyone who wants to learn to sing can come to the online lesson. You are welcome, whether you are a beginner or already a long time in singing, there are always things to learn. The best option is to find a good teacher. At the Tampere Singing School, we have competent and professional teachers in different styles of singing.

You can attend the class from the comfort of your home and thus save time and travel costs.

WHAT DO I NEED FOR THE LESSON?

You need a laptop or tablet for the class. Both contain a webcam and a microphone. An external microphone improves sound quality. The teacher himself has an external microphone at his disposal during the online class, so that the sound quality for the student is as good as possible. With the USB connection, using the microphone is easy.

If you want, you can also use headphones, they can improve the sound quality and help you concentrate.

Good value for money external microphones are for example: RODE NT-USB MINI approx. €100, AKG-LYRA approx. €150, ZOOM Q2N-4k approx. €240

CAN I ATTEND THE CLASS BY PHONE?

Yes, you can also come to class via phone. You can also download the Zoom App to your phone.

IS MY INTERNET LINE GOOD ENOUGH?

HOW DO I MAKE A ZOOM LESSON WORK?

Download the Zoom online connection app to your device from either the Google store or the App store.

The teacher will send a link that you can click on to enter the class when your device has it
With Zoom installed. Please practice using the zoom and the possible background tape in advance so that these go smoothly during the class.

If singing through the equipment is scary at first, the teacher can give advice at the beginning to get the class started.

It's not worth trying a good hobby because the online class seems challenging in terms of equipment at first.

HOW DO I BOOK A LESSON?

The online lesson lasts 45 minutes, however, the teacher reserves 60 minutes for one lesson, if there are any adjustments with the lines.
The individual lesson must be used within one (1) month from the date of purchase. The reservation can be moved at least 24 hours before the agreed time of the class. Otherwise, the same terms and conditions apply as in Tampere Singing School's home teaching.

The class is usually arranged within a week of booking.

You will receive a message from the teacher to your e-mail with a link from which you can join the online class. You should check your email before the class starts. It comes at the latest about 30 minutes before the start of the class.

IF THE LINES DON'T WORK CAN I GET MY MONEY BACK?

We always reserve 60 minutes for a 45-minute online lesson, so that despite possible minor disturbances, we can hold the lesson to its full extent. If the class cannot be held due to the non-functioning of the lines as a whole, then a new time will be arranged for the remaining unused time.

HOW DO I CHOOSE A SONG FOR THE FIRST LESSON?

On our website you can find song lists from which you can choose a suitable song for the first lesson. You can find the backing tape for the song at, for example, Singa.com, where you can download 5 songs/day for free or buy an unlimited monthly membership. Singa.com contains more than 80,000 songs. This is how you get a backing track for the song, so that a subtle delay in the online class doesn't affect your singing. There are also many other opportunities to find background tapes online, and the teacher will give you tips on that as well.

Of course, it is possible for you to choose your very own wish song and the matching backing band.

The background tape is not mandatory, but it makes it easier to get into the mood, because the teacher cannot accompany you from his teaching place due to a small delay.

PREPARING FOR THE CLASS

Place your laptop, tablet or phone at a suitable height so that the teacher can see you well and that you have good posture and head position when standing.

CONTENTS OF THE SINGING LESSON

We will go through the song you have chosen from several different perspectives. We look for relief in technically difficult places, we familiarize ourselves with the text of the song and its interpretation and expression, we get to know the musical elements, genre and phrasing of the song.
The content of each lesson is always tailored according to the singer's wishes, needs and goals

CAN THE LESSON BE RECORDED?

The teacher can save the lesson and share it with the student, leaving it for the student to use again as many times as the student wants.

WHAT DOES IT COST?

An online lesson costs €65, the teaching time is 45 minutes. The teacher reserves 60 minutes for you so that the lesson can be held despite possible challenges.

HOW MUCH DO I PAY PER LESSON?

The lesson is paid in advance via the payment link on the website. Payment methods are all payment methods that generally work online.

CAN AN ONLINE LESSON BE AS GOOD AS A LOCAL LESSON?

With online teaching, it is possible to reach the same level as face-to-face teaching. The final result is largely influenced by the student's own dedication to the online lesson.

The advantages of an online class are:
- a familiar environment where concentration can be easier,
- the ease of the class in terms of travel and schedule,
- if you are shy, it may be easier to be in an online class than one-on-one in a classroom, - you can take an online class from a hotel room on your business trip,
- class attendance is researched to be more intense and
- you can also video your own lesson in addition to the zoom tape, so you can also evaluate your own

from the perspective of someone outside your class.
