Johanna Kyykoski
I am an Emma-awarded musician, singer and vocal pedagogue, originally from Valkeakoski, currently living in Tampere. I graduated from the Kyme Conservatory in Kotka as a band-orchestra musician (2008) and from the Savonia University of Applied Sciences in Kuopio as a pop/jazz vocal teacher (2014). My studies included an exchange year in Denmark, at the Aarhus Academy of Music.
When I was younger, I first started classical singing lessons, but then my passion and mission in life was found in rhythm music! I have received lessons from several teachers with different styles. In addition, I have trained e.g. CVT and Estill technology courses.
In addition to rhythm music, I love musicals where combining body, movement and voice is challenging, but fulfilling and wonderful!
I have 10 years of experience on international stages and the life of a touring musician
A Cappella group with Tuulettare. I have given concerts in Japan, India, Australia and Chile, among others! In addition, I have worked as a soloist in several different ensembles and orchestras, composed and wrote lyrics, and worked as a background singer.
I've been teaching singing and running various courses since 2014. In my teaching, I use all the tacit knowledge I've learned over the years:
Healthy and resonant voice use, different singing techniques, things related to tension and performance, utilizing the body and solving voice problems.
Let's jump deeper than the surface and find your own voice and way of singing.
Let's enjoy singing and explore the feelings that singing offers us!

I am a musician, music pedagogue (AMK) and director of theater expression (AMK). As a singing teacher, I graduated from Centria University of Applied Sciences in 2022, majoring in pop/jazz singing. In addition to the Tampere Singing School, I worked as a rhythmic music singing teacher at Pirka School and the leader of the New Music rock choirs.
I could mention songwriting as a special passion: I compose, write lyrics and arrange music for, among other things, my solo productions, for choirs and various amateur theater performances. I have worked versatilely in theater arts as a director, actor, group leader and teacher (e.g. RAM Ensemble, Kulttuurikorjaamon's KuKu project and Aava Ensemble).
Creativity and self-expression have always been a big part of my identity, and these things are also emphasized in my own pedagogy. I want to encourage my students to be gentle and interested in their own voice and an authentic way of expressing themselves. Body and mind work in strong cooperation when singing, and I love to explore what and how music and stories feel in the body. How do we get deeper into self-expression as singers?
Music is a wonderful means of communication and (at least in my list) throwing the best things in the world!

Anu Collin
I graduated from the music degree program at Tampere University of Applied Sciences as an instrument pedagogue in the spring of 2023, my major is classical singing. I graduated as a musician in 2019 from Länsirannikon Koulutus Oy Winnova, Pori.

I have come a long way as a singer to find my own voice and above all courage. That is why, as a singing teacher, I am driven by the passion to teach singers of all ages and all levels about the technique of singing and thereby ensure that the student finds his own voice and learns to sing without damaging his instrument.
At the same time, I want to create a safe and accepting atmosphere where the singer dares to find his own way of singing and interpreting light and classical repertoire.

I am talkative and lively. An easily approachable and absolutely enthusiastic teacher. Since singing is overall good for a person, both heart and brain, I want to offer everyone the opportunity to find a singer in themselves.

Veera Tapanainen
I am a musician (AMK) who graduated from Tampere University of Applied Sciences in 2017 with Music Theater studies and a freelance actor (FIA). I have acted in many different musicals, for example in Tampere Työväen Theater (Matilda, Momentum 1900, Spring Awakening). My job description also includes dubbing children's and youth programs at many different studios and the versatile work of a musician. I have also taught courses in musical theater, expression skills and improvisation.
As a teacher, I want to encourage students to express themselves, courage and the joy of singing. I want to make sure that the student's voice develops in a healthy way. Singing should feel good! An encouraging and safe atmosphere is a cornerstone when working with your own voice, and as a teacher I invest a lot in creating a good and open atmosphere. I'm happy to listen to the student's wishes and encourage and help find songs that ignite and inspire. I am interested in finding training methods and tools that are suitable for everyone personally to develop as a singer. I love thinking about and experimenting with singing techniques, and the Estill courses I took in 2023 have inspired me to study the physiology of singing more deeply.
All genres of rhythmic music succeed in my teaching. However, musicals are my specialty and I like the opportunity they offer to engage in singing technique drills, practicing expression and musical tinkering. Musical songs can also be found in numerous different genres, something for everyone! In our lessons, if the student wishes, we can also focus on practicing the interpretation of the songs, i.e. storytelling, creating an emotional connection and other things related to acting.

Stanislav Kriuchkov
I am a Ukrainian-born singing teacher, concert and chamber singer with over 7 years of teaching experience and almost 20 years of performing experience in classical and pop music. I graduated from the Kharkiv Conservatory (Ukraine) as a singing pedagogue and concert singer. In addition, my background includes two other university degrees in music from the field of teacher education.
As a singing teacher, I focus on voice control, breathing, and vocal resonance according to the principles of the Italian singing school. I want to help the student understand their own body and voice — as if the singer were a musician with their own instrument. Every voice is unique, and that is why I approach teaching individually.
I teach classical and light singing in three languages: Finnish, English and Russian. I work with students of all ages and levels — both amateurs and those aiming for music studies.
Today, I am the principal voice of the alto group of the Tampere Philharmonic Choir and have sung in professional choirs and performed as a soloist in Finland, Germany, Spain and Italy.
My classes create a supportive and peaceful atmosphere where the student's own voice is allowed to grow and strengthen.

Mikko Leppänen
I graduated from Tampere University of Applied Sciences as a music pedagogue, majoring in singing and music technology. I started teaching singing and small groups in 2013. As a teacher, I want to share an understanding of how you can singly approach different genres and the nuances that belong to them without forgetting the healthy use of your voice and body.
I have accumulated experience in singing and performing for about 10 years. Along the way, I've gotten to know many different styles of music, from rock to the latest pop and from dance music to rap. I play very actively in various light music ensembles, such as Bilebändi Toaster and Get The Led – A tribute to Led Zeppelin.
Rock music is close to me, but I really like to listen and sing all kinds of music, and challenge myself to new situations in music.

Juhana Mattila Pianist
Juhana is a pianist from Tampere who teaches at the Tampere Conservatory, the Church Musicians' Associations and the Music School Musiikkitoteeme about the secrets of music composition and piano playing. Juhana also accompanies the Finnish Theatre Institute and has played in the musical Cats at the Tampere Theatre. Juhana has been a trusted pianist, bandleader and accompanist at the Tampere Singing School since 2013.
As a pianist/accompanist, he is at his own in all genres - his favorite pieces are classical pieces from the Romantic period and jazz standards, although it's nice to be omnivorous when it comes to music - good music never goes to waste! From the pianist's seat, it's also nice to jump into the world of the organ, where you can exercise with your feet and the orchestral timbres of the organ.
